Over the weekend a friend asked me to attend her church service. I haven't spent much time with her lately so I agreed, not really sure what I was getting into. What was surprising, (but not really), was the message for the week - ask God/the Universe/Yourself for what you want & need and believe you will get it. I always knew that the bible teachings were pretty much what most of our business coaches preach, but it really hit home this week.
"Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill says it right there in the title, Mike Dooley (Thoughts from the Universe) "Thoughts become things", Eric Lofholm (Master Sales Trainer & Public Speaker) says, "Change begins in language" and the bible, "Your faith has set you free." They all say that in order to reach your goals, you must believe you can, and believe the universe/God/your personal power will help you get there.
That being said, you can't just set a goal and assume it will happen. You must embrace that goal with everything you've got. Believe you can and will achieve it, and TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTIONS! Think outside the box, use your energy and do what you know will make a difference. This is key - action. Work on something each day that will bring you closer to achieving that goal. Make a list of action steps you can take and work on at least one each day.
Keep yourself on track by writing down your goals and action steps. Look at that list daily. Check off what you have accomplished to help keep you motivated. And hold yourself accountable! Sometimes we need someone else to answer to, to keep us on track. Work with a friend or colleague, or hire a coach. (just like your trainer at the gym, we show up because 1, we are paying them, and 2 because we would feel bad cancelling)
Do what is required to stay focused and motivated and you WILL achieve your goals!
